Dear David,

 Things I would have told David when he was still young:

1. There will soon be a vacancy. The King of kings will send for you! Keep your eyes on the assignment before you, and be faithful.

2.  Your current assignment is a dress rehearsal for what is coming. You will go from slaying lions and bears to slaying goliaths and giants. Keeping your father's sheep is as important as ruling as a king in the eyes of God. If you are not faithful in the least, you cannot be faithful with the most. Again be faithful!

3. Service is your passport to the throne. Service is your training ground for greatness. Despise service at the demise of your destiny. No matter how anointed you are, learn to serve. 

4. You are the King's delight; God's eyes are on you. You feel insignificant and not seen because you are the least in your father's house, relax! God sees you. You have the attention and the audience of the King of kings. You are well known in heaven. Stay hidden until the time of your showing forth. Don't struggle to be known.

5. You cannot be empty. You must prepare according to the prophecy on your head. Don't be like the five foolish virgins waiting without oil. Let not oil be lacking on your head(Ecc 9:8). Acquire the necessary skill needed for your journey. It will be suicidal to your destiny to appear before the King empty-handed. 

6. In destiny, value is a currency. Become value-loaded. Although you are called and chosen, it is your gift that will make room for you and bring you before great men. Take your harp lessons seriously!

7. Wait for the fullness of time! Move at God's pace. Don't announce yourself. While waiting, build character, strength, and stamina. Deal with your weaknesses and your tendencies. Let God work on your desires and appetite. What you don't deal with now will bring you down tomorrow.
