It's been on my heart to complete the second part of
this topic. All the principles I have shared and the ones I will share are all
equally important. If you apply these four principles in your life and give it
six months, I am confident your life will shift into a higher dimension.
Nothing works until someone works it. A wise man/woman is not one with so much
knowledge but one who gets knowledge and apply it in his/her life. The reason
nothing is changing in your life is because you have refused to engage these
principles. These are the foundational principles of success in life and I am
so glad to share them with you. If you have not seen the first part of this blog, please click on the link below and read.
Principles that will distinguish a young person in Life-Part 1
The third principle is PRAYER!
3. PRAYER:
To run your life without prayer is the most dangerous
thing you will ever do on earth. Yes! Its very risky. Prayer is so important
that Jesus said, "men ought always to pray and not faint". So it does
not matter what you are going through, you must pray. You don't pray because
you are in need, you don't pray because all is well. You pray because it's your
lifestyle. Prayer is not primarily an avenue for receiving things from God,
rather prayer is for fellowship. Prayer
is where you begin to unveil the heart
of the father for the day. Prayer is a mingling of divinity with humanity. Prayer is not an option, it is a necessity.
You cant say I don't have the grace for prayer. Grace for anything comes when
you begin to make effort in that area. Prayer makes you sensitive to what God
is doing and saying per time. I have observed that the more prayerful I am, the
more I am able to see clearly spiritually. Prayer is like connecting to God's
frequency to download the agenda of heaven here on earth. To be prayerless, is
to be clueless in the things of the spirit. Prayer helps you to be ahead in
life because you see things before, they happen and you take action. Prayer
makes you proactive instead of reactive in life. Men of great success and
impact in the kingdom are men of prayer. You must learn from Jesus. Learn to
draw away from the business of life and make out time for prayer. Develop a
prayer structure for yourself. Prayer will not fall on you like that! You must
engage it. Map out time in a day and devote it for prayer and fellowship. You
must pray daily. You must be intentional and strict about this aspect of your
life. Discipline yourself and develop diligence in the place of prayer. Start
somewhere and stretch yourself in the place of prayer. Pray in tongues more
often. Praying in tongues helps you pray
in line with the will of the father. Praying in tongues also reveals the will
of the father. I read about a true-life story (I think it was told by Kenneth
Copeland) about a church in Russia that will normally hold underground
meetings. Every time they met, the KGB(Government secret service) will come and break it up because they had an
informant in their meetings. However, they were not able to identify the
informant in their midst. So the pastor told his congregation that he was not
going to announce the time and the location of their next meeting. Instead, every
one of them would have to pray in the spirit to download the venue and the time
of their next meeting. At the next meeting, everyone showed up to the meeting
except the informant. That's what prayer can do!
4. VISION AND GOAL SETTING:
If you don't know where you are going, you are going nowhere.
Your life has no direction without vision. What is vision? Vision is direction,
divine guidance and revelation of what to do and become in life. Vision is
seeing where you are going before you get there. In Gen 13:14, We see God
telling Abram to lift up his eyes and look from the place where he was,
northward, southward, eastward and westward and as many as the lands he can
SEE, God will give to him and his offspring forever. In other words, as far as
you can see, I will give to you! What do you see? Where do you see yourself in
the next ten years?
It is not enough to have a vision for the future, you
must write your vision down and make it plain. Why is it important?
We are wired to
become what we behold, in 2 Cor 3:18, we see a principle here.
18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass
the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory,
even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Meaning what you continually SEE, with your eyes, mind
and heart, you will become.
Habakkuk 2:2-3
And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision,
and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision
is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie:
though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
So you see that writing your vision down works with
the law of focus. Whatever you keep before your eyes, becomes your focus, whatever
you focus on, magnifies and becomes your reality. Focus amplifies anything.
Your life goes in the direction of your focus. Passion is directed in the path
of your focus.
Another aspect of vision is that if you don’t set
clear goals, your vision will remain a dream and a fantasy. You must set clear
measurable goals with deadline to achieve them. Don’t just live life as the day
comes, set goals for each month and for each area of your life and work hard to
achieve those goals.
I know you have been blessed! Please share so others
can benefit also.
Love N.
